What kind of Halloween person are
you? Dress up and party every year, give out candy maybe dressed up, or hide
inside your house with the porch light off?
I love Halloween! As a Wiccan, Samhain (as we call
Halloween) is one of the most powerful nights of the year. It is my favorite holiday and I do it up
right. I dress up, I decorate, and I hand out loads of candy, too.
Even my two cats, Moon and Magic get in on the
action. They are especially drawn to decorations, candy, or any decorations I
put up.
Do you decorate outside for
Halloween? Absolutely! What is Halloween without some spooky decorations?
Are you a
master pumpkin carver?
Not so much. I need child-proof knives. But I’m
great at painting them! I also have a thing for little baskets of gourds and
tiger pumpkins. I think putting those in the home looks very festive.
Tell us the scariest thing that has
ever happened to you and it doesn’t have to be Halloween related.
When I
finished graduate school, my parents sent me to Bed & Breakfast with a spa
as a graduation gift because I was pretty much an exhausted mess. Well, it was
in Southern Ohio and had a gothic, Victorian type of vibe. The room I stayed in
had an entire shelf of porcelain dolls
and I find those creepy on just the face value. Ick. I hate all of those
blinking little doll eyes. Anyway, that night, I fell asleep early and I woke
up (least I think I woke up?!) to find a woman in white standing over me with a
lit candle. She pressed her fingers to her lips to indicate that I should be
quiet and I drifted off again. To this day, I’m not sure if I dreamt it?! I’ll
tell you one thing though, all of the spa treatments in the world didn’t help
me get to sleep the next night.
