Goodreads Blurb:
An enchanting eBook debut about a world where your fantasies come true and nothing is quite what it seems. Come on in to realize your heart’s darkest desire...Virginal twenty-two-year-old Mary has just inherited a sex shop in Florida from her mother. After a long drive from California, she arrives at her deceased mother’s house only to be confronted immediately with two equally sexy strangers: the strong, silent John and the irreverent, taunting Max. She’s innocent, almost completely untouched, but feels a completely uncharacteristic pull to each man. Shocking even herself, she realizes it’s not an unwelcome desire.

A quick, fun and sexy read that left me hanging (UGH!) It’s really a good read that leaves the reader very curious as to what is to come and keeps you turning the pages until before you know it, you’re at the end and looking for much more! Erotic romance readers will without a doubt enjoy this first installment of the Fetish Box :)

Mary has never met her biological mother but has learned that she’s inherited two businesses and a home. When she arrives to where her new home and businesses are located, she learns she has inherited much more than what the lawyer has told her. It’s almost like she now has a new family and a whole new life completely opposite of what she’s accustomed to. But she is taking it all in stride and learning a lot, both about her mother and herself.

I’d say there’s a touch of a love triangle happening here (maybe more of a lust triangle, it’s too soon to say), but with the way it was left off, I’m not absolutely positive. John and Max are also Mary’s business partners and both seem to desire her, one more than the other. Mary on the other hand, desire’s them both. Only time (and the next book of the series) will tell what’s to become of them.

Review Grail Chase Book One: An Impossible Lover's Touch By Dara Fogel

Goodreads Blurb: Drawing on the same theories as Scott Brown's The DaVinci Code, GrailChase! centers on the implications that Jesus survived crucifixion and had a family with Mary Magdalen. What would happen if a womanizing scoundrel discovers he is a descendant of Christ and is called upon to save humanity from bondage to the evil Illuminati?

Set in Victorian-era Europe, against the backdrop of massive social change, GrailChase! Book 1: An Impossible Lover's Touch explores the eternal longing of the human spirit for love, freedom and enlightenment.

When the dashing British rogue, Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Jordan Haldane goes to Italy for a shady business deal, instead he finds himself falling head over heels in love with the headstrong, but impoverished beauty, Marquessa Sophia D’Amici. Little do these two suspect that their star-crossed romance is being monitored and their lives manipulated by agents of darkness and chaos.

Unwittingly, Haldane and Sophia are drawn into the age-old battle between the forces of light and dark, as the ancient Guardians of the Holy Grail and the Illuminati wrestle for control of the Villa D’Amici, where priceless ancient wisdom (and perhaps even the Holy Grail itself) lie hidden. The future of Europe for the next thousand years depends on the choices of Haldane and Sophia. Through a fateful meeting with Madame Helena Blavatsky, Sophia begins to discover her family’s ancient secret hidden deep within the old castle, while Haldane is forced to defend his life and call upon his own mysterious heritage of abilities to survive.

GrailChase!: Part One – An Impossible Lover’s Touch by Dara Fogel is the book one of a heretical romantic trilogy, following the adventures and unfoldment of two soul mates, whose reunion fulfills prophecy and shapes the destiny of nations for centuries to come.

A very different Historical romance read for me 2.5 rounded to a 3 rating. I feel this story will be best enjoyed by those that are die hard historical fans and do not mind not having happily ever after ending and waiting for the next in the series to see if it's to come.

Sophia is my favorite character in the book. She’s smart, pure hearted, loving, beautiful and kind. She’s a dreamer and very loyal to her family. She’s lost so much already in her years and now loses her father. With no man in her life she feels she must make a hasty decision so she can keep the family home and land as it should be, in the family…

Jordan is a man that a woman should honestly steer clear from. Now-a-days we call his type a full blown player. He has his cake and eats it too! He plays the field with much skill and adore woman of all types. He’s currently at works with getting two enemies whom are also neighbors to make peace and share profit. During that time he meets a beautiful woman that does things to him that he’s not experienced in all of his days. But he does not know what to do about it. So much is at stake and the way he wants to go just does not seem realistic. Will he have a choice?

I enjoyed the idea of the story and really wanted to LOVE it and I believe with a bit more work it could be great! But it was difficult for me fully enjoy for various reasons. One being that one character should have one name. It’s understandable when a man is a father and a professional as well as owning his given name (Example: Dad, Jordan, Colonel), that's reasonable. But Jordan had too many names to keep count of and it made it hard to keep track of at various points with the who is who. The transitioning between chapters, dates, and characters was not done very smoothly. It was actually rather harsh at times and messed with the flow of the story. Those are the two main points that troubled me when reading Grail Chase. Even being so, I’d read book 2 of the series to see where Dara Rogel takes these passionate characters and the outcome.

Guest Post & Giveaway: "Penelope" by Anya Wylde

I would like to welcome Anya to Romance Book Junkies. This is her first time on my blog and she has written a guest post about how she researches for her books. She is also giving away 2 ebook copies of "Penelope".

How do I research for my historical romance novels.

I first created a rough outline of the plot for my novel ‘Penelope’. I then made a detailed work sheet on all the characters involved. It was now time for research.
Penelope is set in Regency England. I divided my research into a few stages. The first stage involved reading books written during the Regency era. A lot of authors write books set in the Regency era but I think it is best to read books written during the Regency era to get a good grasp on the language and culture prevalent at the time.
I went on to study the kind of work the upper, middle and lower class English did at the time. I knew roughly what my characters backgrounds were so it was a matter of figuring out details like what a gardener’s daily work involved and what sort of authority did a duke have at the time. I went on to study a little bit of the history of forensic science to understand what sort of tools they had to solve crimes.
Once my basic research was done, I wrote my first draft. My second stage of research started only after the first draft was complete. I then did a more focussed research on Regency architecture, fashion, society and what the upper crust did during the day. I read travelogues, books and browsed the internet.
The Regency era is simply a backdrop for my novel. It is by no means the most important element. It is only crucial for the comic elements and creating an urgency and frustration among the characters involved.
I think one can go on researching forever. The internet is brimming full of facts and material. I reigned in my impulse to over research and keep my focus on the book and only looked for facts that were important for my novel. The important thing is to finish the first draft and tell the story. I was afraid that I would fill the book with useless facts that would clutter up the book and bore the reader.  I kept a time limit in mind while researching and that helped me focus and finish the novel quickly.

Leaving behind the rural charms of Finnshire, Miss Penelope Fairweather arrives in London with hope in her heart and a dream in her eye. The dowager, no less, has invited her for a season in London, where she will attempt to catch a husband.

Thus begins our heroine's tale as she attempts to tackle the London season with all her rustic finesse. Unfortunately, her rustic finesse turns out to be as delicate as a fat bear trying to rip apart a honeycomb infested with buzzing bees.

What follows is a series of misadventures, love affairs, moonlit balls, fancy clothes, fake moustaches, highwaymen, sneering beauties, pickpockets, and the wrath of a devilishly handsome duke.

We have 2 ebook copies of "Penelope" to give away to 2 lucky commenters. Just leave a meaningful comment with your email address and you will be entered to win. All winners are chosen using random.org. This giveaway is International. You must be 18 or over to enter. Thank you and good luck!

Goodreads Blurb:
A domina’s only purpose in life was to birth vampire children for the Quiet King. Any human woman with the domina gene spent their lives in the castle under strict rules and the guards’ watchful eyes. Brie has been a domina for two years. After witnessing the slaughter of babies, she plans to escape and seeks help from Samuel, a vampire known for aiding many out of slavery.

However, Samuel has only one policy. He won’t help dominas escape the king. The penalty is too high and their blood triggers powers in him that he doesn’t want released. So Brie is forced to lie about being a domina and Samuel is lured in by her blood. Something emerges within them that they can’t deny, overwhelming their every cell and igniting an all-consuming hunger that neither can flee.

I loved this story! And there are some amazing illustrations within. They gave a picture perfect effect to what the author wanted to express and made it even more enjoyable! A definite MUST read for all paranormal romance fans looking for something original, enjoyable and satisfying!

Brie has been a domina for 2 long years. She remained untouched by the Quiet King or any other vampire throughout that time. Wanting and needing to get back home, to the life and family she had before becoming a domina she gains aid to escape and be whole again. What greets her on the journey is everything but what is expected. It’s not easy getting away from the Quiet Kings palace or the dangers that lurk on the trail to her home, family and freedom. She also runs into a crossroad and is unsure which way to go. Samuel has guided her this far, but will he help her make the right decision?

Samual is very well known for helping people across the boarders and aiding them to safety. He has one rule and that rule is he’ll help out all except domina’s. When Brie is brought to him, he knows exactly what he has in his care and cannot bring himself to refuse the beauty before him, now to help her realize what is plain as day before her eyes and available to her every single need and desire.

Be ready for some tears, laughter and quite a few surprises. I am already impatient for the next in the series. I NEED to know what will become of Samuel and Brie and if their paths will continue on the same…

She arranges fantasy fulfillment for a living. Now it's her turn.Victoria has built a world-renowned business at Fantasy Mountain, the resort where no want is too wacky, no urge too unusual, no passion too peculiar. Her ability to create any sexual scenario has granted her everything she could want: power, money, independence. The one thing that remains out of her reach is the man she knows she'll never have...and he happens to work just down the hall from her. Brett has all but given up hope of breaching the wall around Victoria's heart. In fact, he's engaged to be married back in London in only two months. But he knows Victoria has desires; he's seen them firsthand. When a night of passion rekindles old feelings, can he finally fulfill the ultimate fantasy of the woman who's made it her mission to satisfy everyone's desires but her own? After all, whatever the erotic dream, it can come true at Fantasy Mountain.WARNING: Wild romps, no-holds-barred lust, and deep, meaningful lovemaking. A love story first, sparing no steamy details. Contains glimpses into very kinky fantasies.

My Review:
A very interesting, entertaining, emotional and sensual read all based around an island that a woman created to help people’s fantasies come to life on many levels. Fantasy Mountain is a story an erotic romance reader will find intriguing.

Victoria has a hidden past that only she knows all the details of. This past has caused her to close herself off to relationships, commitment and love for herself. She’s living, working and content (well sort of) to help make others happy by bringing their fantasies to life. But what she does not realize is she’s already in love and still does truly desire things for herself, but can her friends and coworkers help her to realize thins and help her to love and truly love again?

I found the story of Victoria and Britt very engrossing and emotional. I definitely felt like a voyeur on the outside looking in to so many personal emotions and sensual situations that even had me blush a time or two. I look forward to more from this author, maybe even more of Victoria and Britt in the future (hint hint).

Book Description:

Love conquers all… but can it stop the Apocalypse?
Mira Herald is having the worst life ever.  Not only is she plagued by horrific nightmares starring the Devil himself, she’s now the target of a power-hungry, rogue minion, freshly sprung from Hell and bent on her destruction.  To complicate matters further, she’s acquired a stalker. One who insists he’s a divine warrior sent for her protection because she houses an ancient relic with the power to unleash Armageddon. Last time Mira checked, she wasn’t insane. Still, all this celestial mayhem is enough to drive a girl crazy.
Kagan is a member of the Scion, an elite team of immortal warriors selected by Divinity to aid mankind and save the world. After a century alone, Kagan is summoned for a new mission. He’s eager to begin. Eager until he’s informed his mission consists of protecting a woman with no clue to the power she wields. Plus, his briefing fails to prepare him for his new target’s cosmic-sized attitude problem.  As Divinity’s sworn servant, he’s required to fulfill his duty. His oath, however, does not require him to be enthusiastic about his new assignment or warm-and-fuzzy toward his new compatriot. He plans a wham-bam rescue and a quick return to solitude.
The rogue minion attacks—with the backing of a mysterious organization—and all Hades erupts, putting a fast end to any whirlwind escapes. Accustomed to staunch independence, Mira’s survival now requires full cooperation and an unwavering belief in Kagan. The battle-hardened warrior is also forced to chose: between duty and desire. Amidst the turmoil, Kagan and Mira’s undeniable passion draws them closer to each other and down a path neither expected but both yearn for, more than they ever knew.
Will love save the day? The world’s fate depends on the answer.

“Basta!” Kagan grabbed her by the arm and twisted slightly, not enough to hurt, but enough to let her know he meant business as he directed her to a corner booth. He ignored the half-full beverages and coats scattered on the seats and shoved Mira into the confined space. When the booth’s original owners took issue with his hostile takeover, Kagan dispatched them with a lethal glare. He wasn’t sure where the girl had gotten the idea his mind was damaged, but he was damn sure he didn’t like it. He moved in behind her to block her escape.

“Oh, hell, no!” After several unsuccessful strikes to his muscled physique, Mira tried to slide out beneath the table. The angle proved too awkward. Defeated, she shoved as far away as she could into the corner and propped those killer boots on the seat in front of her in warning. “You better let me out of here, asshole, before I call the cops! I caught you stalking me, pervert!”

Kagan took a deep breath. He never lost his cool in battle, and he wasn’t about to start now. “Pervert? You’re of age, si?”

Mira glared. Kagan ticked through their earlier interactions, searching for a reason behind her intense hostility. His preternatural instincts sensed her intention before her hand reached his carotid. He blocked her quickly, locking her small hand within his and forcing it to the table beneath his own. Her pulse raced against his palm. He took another swig of beer then flashed his most endearing grin. “Let’s start over.” He released his bottle and extended his hand. “I’m Kagan.”

She refused to acquiesce. Kagan spoke in quiet tones meant to calm, to reassure. “I know I’m a stranger, but we have things to discuss.” He glanced around the crowded club, at the bodies packed tight. “We can’t do it here, though—no privacy. My apartment is close. Why don’t we go there and talk?”

Mira kicked him hard in the thigh.

“Merda!” Kagan grabbed his throbbing leg. “What’s in those damn boots? Marble?”
“Let me out of here, jackass, before I sideline your baby-maker!” Mira struggled within the tight confines of the booth. As she squirmed, the spicy scent of her shampoo wafted, and he was overcome with the strangest urge to plunge his hands into the riotous mass of her hair, to feel it curl around his fingers. She tugged on the hand pinned beneath his, and his thumb traced over her thudding veins. His heart pounding along with hers. The odd tingle sped through his torso, and his mouth turned to cotton. Her gaze blazed up at him, a swirling mix of green and golden brown. He noted the dark smudges below and wondered what kept her from slumber.

Dolce Cristo! Kagan looked away, fought for control. This was getting way out of hand. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d bedded a woman, but apparently it had been far too long.

 She’s hardly a cowgirl…
Cat Crendall left a successful advertising job in New York to teach art workshops in the wild west. The Boyd Ranch is hardly her dream destination, but if the outing’s a success, the company will send her to more exotic locations.

But once a cowboy…
Mack Boyd was in the middle of the best bronc-riding season of his life when his mother asked for help with an artists’ retreat at the ranch. Mack might be able to ride a wild stallion to a standstill but he can’t say no to his family.
Cat and Mack are complete opposites…but when the ranch is threatened financially, can they set aside their differences and work together?

My Review:

A very touching, vivid, entertaining and fun read of how two people from different worlds can have a lot in common, learn from one another, yet be so different and even fall in love. Any contemporary romance readers will enjoy reading Cowboy Tough!

Cat has a lot of pressures in her life. Most she puts upon herself. She’s a very independent, smart, beautiful and talented woman that has big dreams and always wants to do what is right. When she finally gets a chance to do what she enjoys and is faced with (what she thinks of as) a disaster, she does her best to work with it and make the best out of what she has to work with. But she finds herself constantly distracted by a HOT cowboy that makes her want to be a better person and want to be his.

Mack is back home on his family ranch after spending years away in the rodeo. He is now making up for lost time and trying to help his mother save their ranch. The range is left to rot and penniless due to his stepfather basically robbing his mother blind. Due to the love he carries for his mother and the family ranch he does his best to put on his prize winning charm to win over the clients that are now staying on their land for an experience of a life time. The last thing he expects is to fall for the artsy type woman he’s just trying to help for comfortable in the new and unfamiliar surroundings.

You will find yourself needing a tissue, holding your sides from huge bouts of laughter, your jaw dropping from a surprise (or two) and sighing in contentment from the bonds of love and friendship that grow to an amazing level.

There are things in bassist Jace Seymour’s past that he is unwilling to share with anyone. To cover his guilt and anguish, he seeks dominatrix Mistress V (Aggie) to temporarily placate his inner turmoil.

Aggie doesn’t have much use for men–besides the power rush she gets when they’re begging for mercy at her feet–but Jace isn’t like her usual clients. His cool defiance and unexpected dominance in the bedroom drives her to distraction and quickly steals her heart.

When circumstances threaten Jace’s position in Sinners, Aggie must help him regain his rightful place in the band while showing him that time and love can heal all wounds.

My Review:
I adore the Sinners, the series and the author along with her writing, they all rock! I started off reading the series a bit backwards, but find I’m still in awe of all of these amazingly hot and talented men and not even a teeny bit lost. This is one of those stories that is so wonderfully written that you feel as if you are standing right there with everything happening around you, experiencing every single detail. A definite MUST READ for all erotic romance fans :)

Jace is the quiet one of the group and we all know what is said about the quiet ones… That’s right, look out! He has a very haunting past; this past has brought him to desire... pain with his pleasure. He thinks it’s abnormal, but he finds out once he meets an amazing dominatrix, that he’s very normal and he’s falling very fast for her and her dominating ways.

Aggie is a beautiful, talented and amazing woman that knows what she wants in life and goes for it full force. She’s made a great life for herself and fully enjoys living it. Not one for relationships or settling down, she finds herself stunned the way her mind (and heart) venture toward forbidden grounds when she sets her eyes on Jace. What is it about him that sets her aflame?

Hot Ticket is a definite roller coaster of emotions, along with a ton of fun and even a fright or two for you to experience. The antics, the chemistry and the sex are all amazing! Jace and Aggie is one hot couple to get to know! I CANNOT wait to get my hands on the rest in the series!

My Review: A different type of paranormal romance that’s packed full of action, excitement, romance and kick butt characters that any fan of the genre will surely enjoy :)

I admire Mira. She has had a very hard life, filled with trauma and has built a brutal wall around her being (and heart) to help her stay safe in all ways possible. She has one friend and only one (named Zoe). Besides her wall and her one friend, she has made sure she learned how to defend herself from any that may try to harm her or any she cares about. One night while she’s working and meets an arrogant male named Kagan, she feels things, strange things. That she DOES NOT want to explore!

Kagan has a tortured past, a past that haunts him and not many are aware of. He has lived for centuries as a warrior along with a handful of others. All warriors of his ilk are cursed to never know or find their mate, to truly love or to have a family. When he finds himself drawn in inappropriate ways to his new assignment, he’s confused and finds it very difficult to ignore the strength and beauty of the female warrior before him. He does know he will do anything in his power to protect her.

These two have a lot more in common than they realize. Even though at different times, and very different situations. They both carry deep hurt and they can each help to heal the other. I just LOVE when fate puts two people together and they end up with no control over the love that blooms. I hope the author is planning on a series for this group of warriors. I find them all very… intriguing ;)
