Book Description:

Libby is an Enchantress—a witch gifted by the Goddess to conjure spells. When a magical presence is detected around a recent string of feline slayings, Libby takes the case to uncover the reasons behind the odd deaths. Much to her displeasure, the coven also sends a sexy warlock, Kale, to assist her.

While having the muscle around proves to be useful, fighting the attraction between them is worse than a hex, especially considering Kale is keeping secrets. But soon, Libby has bigger problems than the elusive warlock when her spells turn up clues that point to something far more sinister than slaughtered cats.

Now Libby has landed herself in the midst of an uprising. She trusts no one and isn’t safe—not from the warlocks stirring up trouble. Not from the worrisome rebellion she can’t escape. And certainly not from Kale, who is weaving a very dangerous spell over her heart.

Chapter One
Fur. Guts. Blood.
I scrunched my nose as my spaghetti dinner threatened to make an appearance at the sight of the slaughtered black cat on the forest floor. The kitty’s stomach gaped open and its intestines spilled out along the ground, as well as other grossness I’d rather avoid.
Not how I intended to spend my night, or any night for that matter. I turned to my fellow witch, Peyton. “Of all the hobbies to take up, taxidermy isn’t something I’d peg you as interested in.”
Flicking her blond bouncy curls over her shoulders, her baby-blue eyes narrowed on me. “This isn’t a time for jokes, Libby.”
Not as if her wrath had the desired effect; an angry Peyton looked as deadly as a growling puppy. She placed her hands on her tiny waist, pursing her lips. Too bad, I only paid attention to her cute knee-length black baby-doll dress, a tad jealous I didn’t own it. “Look at the poor kitty. Its guts are hanging out.”
“Yes, I see that.” Even if I wanted to pretend I didn’t. In fact, I would have preferred to enjoy the dark night surrounded by the rich earthy scents of the large trees hugging the trail. Sadly, that wasn’t an option. Once again, I glanced down at the disgustingness at my feet.
From all viewpoints, this appeared to be an open-and-shut case. “Looks like a wild animal wanted a snack.” Evil warlocks, I’m there. A dead cat was not a priority. “You better have a good reason for bringing me here.”
“An animal didn’t do this. There’s magic present.” She fiddled with the hem of her incredibly cute dress. “Besides, it’s the fourth gutted cat in three days.”
I paused at that bit of weirdness. I had dealt with at least a hundred cases in the five years I’d worked for Charleston’s coven, and out of all of those cases, none had ever involved animal murders. Four cats in three days was staggering.
I sighed, beginning to understand my presence there. “Four, really?”
Worry darkened Peyton’s eyes. “Each death the coven has sent me to, there has been this weird magical presence.” She rubbed her arms, shaking her head at the dead cat. “It’s peculiar.”
The leaves beneath the cat’s body were soaked in enough blood that I assumed it had been killed at this location. To my disappointment, even with that knowledge no answers materialized, and actually more questions were raised. “If this is the fourth cat, why is this only coming up now?”
“At first, it didn’t seem malicious and no human deaths resulted from the dead cats.” She shrugged. “Now, with this many felines dead, it could be an animal ritual.”
“Possibly,” I agreed. Charleston’s last case of a warlock tapping into dark magic happened only a week ago, but it got cleaned up quickly enough and the warlock received his death sentence. Compared to that, a few dead cats wouldn’t concern the coven, but then why did it now?
Furthermore, why hadn’t the coven contacted me? Peyton held the ability to sense magic’s presence. I am an Enchantress, a witch gifted to work spells. We both held an important role in the coven, as did every witch and warlock who worked for them. Peyton located the scenes tainted with magic, I found the offenders, other witches assisted with different gifts, and warlocks killed the guilty.
If the coven had been as concerned as Peyton seemed now, I would’ve been brought into this a lot sooner. They would’ve requested I take on the case to search around and see if I discovered a reason behind it. That I knew with total certainty. The coven didn’t take chances on these things. The longer we waited to act on someone who harbored evil, the higher the chance they would succeed.
“The coven clearly wasn’t worried about the past deaths, so what’s happened to change their opinion?”
Peyton nibbled her lip. “They didn’t think much of it before because the level of magic isn’t dangerous. Strong, yes, but not dark.” She continued to rub her arms, shifting uneasily on her feet. “I’ve been watching over the matter to see if things worsened, but the only change has been more deaths.” She tilted her head. “One cat can be shoved aside as maybe someone who practiced their magic. This many deaths can’t be overlooked.”
The coven obviously requested that she see if the levels of magic had increased. Yet, why did Peyton call me and not the coven? An order had never come to me in this manner before and it made me curious. “Who told you to ask me to come here?”
“Glenda.” Peyton grimaced at Fluffy. “There’s a reason behind this. The Goddess is warning me.”
I refused to look at the mangy beast and attempted not to inhale the odor of decomposed flesh beneath me. Instead, I scanned the area. Within the dark night the old trees around me created shadows. The stars above twinkled in the sky and the damp grass below my boots glistened with dew. A typical night for me—I hadn’t seen a sunny day in the five years I’d been employed by the coven.
Danger happened during the witching hours of midnight to three in the morning because magic held the most strength then, so the coven stuck to the night shift. I’d become so accustomed to it I never missed the days I had lounged in the sun anymore.
On a sigh, I continued to ponder the fluffball at my feet. If magic were present, clearly someone had either spilled its blood as an offering to dark magic, or simply practiced a spell to kill. Either one sucked, at best. Resolved I’d get nowhere in discovering the truth right now, I moved along. “What does the coven expect me to do about this?”
Peyton rolled her eyes, giving her customary flippant look. “Find who’s responsible.”
I snorted. “What am I, a pet detective?”
“Yes, Lib, that’s exactly what you are.” She frowned. “Must you be a smart-ass all the time?”
I grinned. “I must.”
She ignored my dig—as usual—and carried on in a hurried tone. “Stop stalling, conjure a spell, and fix it.”
“You know I can’t—it’s dead.” I glanced at the cat and groaned. Yes, still very dead. “The coven would wring my neck if I brought it back to life.”
The role as Enchantress with the coven came with one rule—never step out of white magic boundaries. Resurrecting a dead cat hit the no-no list. My job within the coven: stop those who went against the coven rules to protect human lives, since the last thing we needed was the human population going out on a witch hunt. The coven existed to keep witches in Charleston safe. That one law ruled my life.
Peyton’s shoulders slumped and her eyes saddened. “Okay, okay. I know we can’t, but it’s so sad, the poor little kitty.”
My best friend at her finest: her soft heart in this cold magical world had never changed over the years. Yet Peyton’s innocence had once been damaged by loss and pain over the death of her mother, and ever since she’d been emotionally fragile. Three years ago, I’d seen her go into a deep depression at the death of a teenager, and it took her a good month to recover. I would give my life to ensure she stayed away from anything that could damage her again.
Especially now, seeing the vulnerability in her eyes, confirming that any death still rattled her. “Who’d do this?”
“Someone after a higher power.”
At the low velvety voice, I glanced over my shoulder, scowling at the approaching warlock. The coven’s muscle came after I found the offenders. I preferred no help, so his presence at my scene awakened my inner bitch.
Not to say I didn’t realize their worth to the coven. I might be brave, but I couldn’t kill, and warlocks held that desire in spades. However, his presence this early in an investigation meant this matter leaned to the serious side. The coven wouldn’t have called him in if something wasn’t up. More to the point, called in a warlock I’d never seen before. Two strikes against my coven on the “what the hell are they doing” meter.
“Go away.” I pushed the bitch to the forefront of my voice and snapped, “I’ll call the coven when I’m done.”
“I’m looking for Libby Jenkins.” The warlock stopped a foot away by a fallen tree, ignoring my demand, and in the same low voice with a slight Southern accent said, “Would that be you?”
I grunted, not at all impressed with the confidence he exuded, either in his voice or his powerful posture. Doubly annoyed, in fact. “I’m Libby. You are?”
As he took a step into the moonlight, the shadows of the night left his face. He appeared relaxed, shoulders back in his black T-shirt, chest out, and chin lifted. Typical I am a fine specimen of man.
His eyes were a shadowy gray and his face was defined by hard angles, from his high cheekbones and sculpted jaw to lips that seemed carved out for a serious smooch. His chocolate-brown hair reached the bottom of his ears, all scruffy and sexy-like, and he filled out his pair of faded blue jeans well enough.
Not like that impressed me either. Warlocks tended to be pretty. Maybe to some I’d be easy on the eyes with my small frame, longish light-brown hair with honey and auburn highlights, and my dark-blue eyes. But it came from the magic, not a natural gift. Besides, witches aged the same as the humans we lived among. We just tended to do it a little more gracefully, and typically lived to be over a hundred.
The warlock’s focus swept over Peyton as if he took a measure of her before his firm gaze returned to me. “I’m Kale Griffin. The coven requested I join you on this case.”
Great. What serious danger had I landed myself in? “They what?”
Sure, Kale looked nice, but I didn’t want—or need—his help. The idea of being teamed up with a warlock interested me about as much as if someone pulled out my hair strand by strand. Besides, never in all the years I had worked for the coven did they team me up with a warlock, which only made me wonder why they’d done it. I thought back over the past cases I’d worked. Perhaps some cases took longer to solve than others, but why in the hell had they sent me a babysitter now?

Stacey Kennedy’s novels are lighthearted fantasy with heart-squeezing, thigh-clenching romance, and even give a good chuckle every now and again. But within the stories you’ll also find fast-paced action, life-threatening moments, and a big bad villain who needs to be destroyed. She lives in Southwestern Ontario with her husband and two children. If she’s not plugging away at a new story—which is rare because her muse is annoying—you’ll find her camping, curling up with the latest flick, or obsessing over Sons of Anarchy, Games of Thrones, Supernatural and Dexter.

My Review:

A good continuation from where Dangerous Designs left off, a 3.5 rating rounded to a 4 for me. It did not go in the direction I expected it to, but it was no less good than the first. Still an amazingly creative, vivid world with twists, excitement, adventure and a few surprises. Anyone looking into reading this without reading the first in the series can rest at ease, Deadly Designs was written so it can be read as a stand-alone. It contained a perfect amount of information that allows the reader to flow right along with the story and its characters without feeling lost; a read that many YA paranormal fans will enjoy :)

Storey is experiencing a bout of homesickness and it seems that she’ll get anywhere else but there. She and Eric end up on yet another mission (mostly not by choice), but this time it’s to help two others in need of assistance. One, known as the enemy to Eric’s people, the other is a new found enemy of Storey. She has grown up a lot from when she was first introduced to us. I’m beginning to see her more as a woman and not a teenager. She puts herself at risk for others in need, even if they are the enemy. A character that sets many great examples for others.

Eric has also grown in character a great deal. He’s now gotten to experience more of life than he ever has through the eyes, mind and exuberance that is Storey and he’s enjoying each new experience, well except for a few minor (hee hee) bumps that are in their path.

I look forward to the next in the series. There was a lot left hanging by the end and some questions not answered. Knowing there is going to be another in the series, one thing I am hoping that Storey and Eric finally realize what the truly mean to one another and have a happily ever after.

He has learned the terrible price of love and will not suffer such loss again. When the dying Chrisselle is thrust upon him, he is determined to rid himself of her as soon as she recovers. However, the Scottish waif’s brave spirit and curious nature eventually break down his defenses. It is clear that fate has brought them together, but Ryce knows from experience that fate can be a cruel mistress.

Adult Material (18+)

Warning: This book contains sexually explicit content and scenes that some readers may find objectionable.

My Review:Another great, exciting and original BDSM read by Red Phoenix! I’ve read historical BDSM a few times before from various authors, have read many of Red’s works and have to say none of them were quite like this one (which is great!) To put a description to my feelings on this read and give you a better idea of what to expect the words that come to mind are stimulating, unpredictable, surprising, sensual and touching. A definite must read for fans of the genre, whether you like historical or not, you will enjoy His Scottish Pet.

Ryce is not from Scotland, but finds himself there trying to rid himself of haunting memories. No one knows the real Ryce but Ryce himself and he’ll keep it that way for as long as his lives. He prefers to keep to himself, hold his secrets deep within and not arouse any suspicions. When he meets Chrisselle the darkness within him begins to brighten. He’s a stranger to these emotions she brings forth and does not welcome them into his life. He’s an alpha hot Dom that will always leave any subbie panting for more, but can he resist what fate has tossed in his path?

I cannot wait to see where Red takes us in the next book. The ending (while satisfying), left a lot to the imagination; I know, many thoughts have been running through my mind since I read the last sentence and I’m hoping that Ryce and Chrisselle both get a VERY happily ever after :)

Character interview with Ryce Leon from His Scottish Pet: Dom of the Ages

Are we ready to get to know Ryce Book Junkies? Ready or not, here we go!

RBJ: How old are you exactly (no trimming of years, we want the truth)?
Ryce: At the point you enter my life, I had been alive for over 400 years. Some of you may be thinking “around five lifetimes” however, you would off by an additional five. We did not have the extended lives you now enjoy. Death was a constant back then for everyone but me.

RBJ: You speak to Eventide as if he is a person. What's the deal with him and is he as old as you?
Ryce: My horse Eventide is one of those rare creatures – an old soul encased in fur. He is a friend in every way, intellect, heart, loyalty… no different than a man. Unfortunately for this Englishman, he is not affected with the curse and shall enjoy a normal existence.

RBJ: Are there any others like you?
Ryce: An excellent question.

RBJ: What do you have against the Scottish brogue?

Ryce: Although it certainly has its distinctive charm, I find it tedious to translate slang. Far easier to demand my slaves and pets speak my naïve tongue. I am the Master.

RBJ: Now to the down and dirty that we got to know you a little bit. What is your favorite disciplinary tool to use on your women? What is your favorite tool to use to pleasure women?
Ryce: I prefer the bullwhip. It demands my concentration. You see, I enjoy using an instrument that has the potential to main and kill. I can lick your skin with a gentle caress or strike with deadly vengeance. The power is mine.

RBJ: Have you ever imagined yourself being dominated?
Ryce: Being dominated sexually? No. However, I do enjoy a battle of wits. Win and I may let you lay a hand on me, but expect settlement afterwards. I always have the last word.

RBJ: How long have you been a Dom?

Ryce: My Dominant tendencies found their roots in Japan. An enchanting girl there had much to teach me and that will be the next story I share. I have spent lifetimes building upon those lessons.

RBJ: Where did you live at the time of the curse?
Ryce: It will be interesting when I can share more. I will say this, at the moment in my life I thought I had been given the greatest gift known to man. Time has gone out of her way to prove me wrong.

RBJ: Do you think you'll fall in love again? Or just kept it casual for another hundred years or so??
Ryce: Would I choose to love again? Never. It is not worth the pain for either party. However, it appears fate enjoys playing games. I resent her devilish ways. For if fate controls me, what is the point of my existence?

RBJ: Can your curse be passed on? If so, how?
Ryce: God’s teeth! Why would I pass on this curse on to another? Foolish mortal.

RBJ: Will you visit the blog again someday soon and tell us about some of your adventures?
Ryce: Gladly. A Master is always a gentleman but once the invitation is given, you will find there is no turning back.

Goodreads Blurb: Olivia Ann Greyson is a Charmer, a Dhampir with the power to lure the supernatural world’s most dangerous of creatures – and she’s in an impossible situation. She must leave behind Caleb Wolfe, the strong, protective vampire she has fallen madly in love with, in order to learn how to protect herself from the vampires, shifters and demons that will be drawn to her for the rest of her life.

Human Guardian, Alec Lambert, has been assigned to see to Olivia’s training by the organization he belongs to, which is known simply as The Brethren. He takes Olivia to the group’s stronghold in the mountainous regions of Alberta, Canada, where she discovers the answers to her family’s painful past and the extent to which those hunting her will go to capture her. But she also uncovers many secrets and even more questions about this mysterious group she has trusted to protect her – secrets that will have her fighting to get back to the man she left behind.

. . . but will it be too late?

My Review: I did not know what to expect with this being the second book of The Charmed Trilogy and the way the first book left off. We all know how many series tend to weaken a bit as they go on. That DID NOT happen here. It continued to hold strong, it’s actually my favorite so far! A definite must read for paranormal romance fans, I do recommend reading the series in order. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone (it was very well written), you’ll miss out on a great build between Olivia and Caleb :)

Olivia is now training, strengthening herself and her powers so she can defend herself and not need to rely on another for sole protection. She’s discovered many things about herself and what she is truly capable of. She’s also discovered her weaknesses and has learned to accept her vampire side. Some shocking secrets are uncovered and Olivia (finally) finds herself where she belongs.

Caleb is still one hot alpha vampire that can make any woman drool. He’s extremely overprotective of those he holds dear and will not let anything stop him from protecting them. He has come a long way from book 1 in the series and I admire him more and more as the series progresses.

I’m VERY excited to get my hands on the next book in the series. I want to see how Caleb and Olivia are continuing their new relationship and know if there’s any actual progress between Jax and Gemme. I adore all of Christine’s characters, bravo!

Goodreads Blurb: She’s fed up with being fed on.

All Miranda Thibodeaux really wants to do is survive corporate hell and be left alone. But as the daughter of the Incubi king, being left alone isn’t on her schedule. And as an avatar to a goddess with multiple personality issues, taking things in stride isn’t either.

Daniel looks like an ordinary surfer boy—T. T. B.--Tall, Tanned, and Blond. Hot he may be, but ordinary he’s not. Beneath the pretty packaging lies a ruthless warrior, a servant to the Vampire Council. His mission is to find Miranda and present her to the council, then get the hell out of Dodge before he loses his focus. The last thing he needs is the distraction of the testy female.

When circumstances force Miranda to turn to T.T.B. for help, they both end up with more than they bargained for. And that normal human life she wanted? Not really doable when everyone wants a piece of her...

My Review: Sex from start to finish and WOW! This is definitely an original erotic paranormal read that is the furthest from predictable at any point of the story. A 3.5 rating rounded to a 4 for me. It was a fun read with an original and sexy story that many readers of the genre looking for something different, don’t mind blood and gore (which I actually like), lots of hot sex (VERY hot), excitement and suspense will enjoy.

Miranda seems to have no choices in her life any longer. Just when she thought it was all smooth sailing a storm had to go and brew a whopper (figuratively speaking). And it all started once Daniel (AKA T.T.B.) walked into her life. She’s now finding out the other side of herself, a side she did not realize she was missing and facing dangers that we would shirk away from in a blink!

Daniel is still a bit of a mystery to me, as I’m sure he will be to you as well. He’s not one that likes to reveal much about himself, but is not ashamed to express his feelings. He’s hot, sexy, loving, strong, committed and brave. I definitely would not mind meeting him, anywhere ;)

I felt as if I was left hanging a bit (forgive me if this is part of a series) there are a few questions that still linger in my mind, especially about Miranda’s best friend. I enjoyed all of the characters and their personalities. The antics and chemistry between Miranda and Daniel was a blast. I plan on looking into more from Jennifer James in the near future; her writing is very fun :)

The Sons of Navarus series continues...

I am everything you seek. I am vampire.

Blessed with the gift of telepathy, Terek always knows what a woman wants. His gift has afforded him nightly sensual pleasures and exotic treats for centuries, but beneath the surface he yearns for much more.

Ilona can give him what his soul craves, but only if he trusts his heart. One fateful choice made out of desire puts all he cares for in danger. With a civil war and the threat of Archon hunters at every turn, this Son may lose everything if he can't find the balance between heart and mind.

My Review: Gabrielle has kept the series very strong going and full of surprises from our Sons of Navarus. Once again we learn even more about the Sons, with book 3 we now have an even clearer picture of their purpose and the why of their numbers. A definite great addition to any fans of paranormal romance to add on to their TBR piles and read ASAP :)

Oh Terek (sigh), such a dreamy vampire that would make any woman down on her knees just to give him the pleasure he deserves. He holds up a very strong front, but has suffered great loss in his past. It still affects him to this day, but he continues to bring happiness to others and save those in need that he can assist. He loves, but not in the way one with a heart of his caliber should. Feeling something new within him, a happiness he’s not remembered ever experiencing during his life as a vampire, he wonders what the mystery is behind the female beauty named Ilona.

Ilona is in one of those situations of being in “the wrong place at the wrong time” or the reverse, all depending how you look at it. She has a good human life, she has a job, she lives with family she loves and they love her back. Viciously attacked by a vampire while on her way home from a party, she must now face a new life; one without her family and in a strange new situation that she is having a very hard time accepting. She knows nothing of how to be other than what and who she is. The only thing she is sure of at this point is the pull, the strong attraction she has to Terek.

I feel each and every book of the series can be read as a stand-alone without the reader being lost or confused. But I truly recommend reading the series in full and in order so you can get the full effect of what the author has created for us all to enjoy.

My Review: This is the second book in the Sons of Navarus series (third if you include Vampire Dreams Revamped) and I’m still fully enjoying the series. Gabrielle is keeping the series going strong; packed full of action, surprises, hot alpha vampires, romance and hot sex that make for a great read for any fan of the genre.

Saint is a hottie of an alpha vampire that has been shunned, forced to live among humans and away from his kind for years. He’s lived his years taking only human blood and human woman to his bed, none of his kind, ever again. His heart is held by the one and only vampire he’s ever touched and will never have again. But when danger forces her back into his life, he has no choice but to face her and their past; a past that haunts him to no end.

Solenne is a beautiful, loving and loyal female vampire that will do anything for those she loves. Sired by Teagan (Saints brother), and alone due to his passing. She agrees to help the Sons save Saint from an undue fate. It hurts her deeply to see him again, but still, she’d do anything in her power to keep him safe; even if it means sacrificing parts of herself.

This is my favorite of the series so far. Love the history, chemistry and story between Saint and Solenne. Both have learned a lot from what they’ve been through and neither will let the past determine their fated future. More please :)

I am everything you desire.
I am everything you fear.
I am lust and appetite.
I am vampire.

I am everything you desire. I am vampire.

Powerful and manipulative, Vasilije does as he pleases. A vampire beholden to no one, he takes what he desires, drinking deeply the pleasures this life has to offer.

When one of his own is staked, Vasilije must travel to New Orleans to exact his revenge. There he meets Sasa, a beautiful woman who arouses him like no other has for centuries. Vasilije's need for vengeance is equaled only by his passion for her, but what he finds in his revenge is just the beginning...

My Review: An OMG amazing erotic vampire novel by Gabrielle Bisset that's guaranteed to keep your interest as if it's the first vampire story you've ever read! I highly recommend it to be read by any and all fans of vampires, paranormal and romance (especially if you like the good looking alpha types).

Sasa has not been able to have much of a life since her mother's illness. She has no social life what-so-ever and basically revolves ALL around her mother. That is until she makes a deal with a female vampire to help her save her mother's life and stop her suffering.

Vasilije is a very old vampire that really is hot stuff! He is very powerful and knows exactly how to get what he wants. When he wants it! But what happens when he becomes unsure of what he wants? The unexpected that's what  :)

Goodreads Blurb: Expanded from the original, Vampire Dreams Revamped is bigger, longer, and hotter. Revisit the world of Brandon, Arden, and Vasilije and meet new characters too!

A vampire for hundreds of years, Brandon Ridley is surrounded by others of his kind who enjoy their world to the fullest. Orgies, debauchery, and sensual delights leave him empty, though. What he wants is that one woman who will share his life.

Homeless and without any family, Arden Stephens must live on the streets of mid 19th century London, never a safe place for a young woman. One night, as she is running for her life from an attacker, she is rescued by Brandon and offered a place in his home as his maid. Brandon is enchanted by Arden from the moment they meet and yearns to make her one of his kind.

Nightly, he visits her in her sleep, preparing her for the night he will finally make her his own. For Arden, the wanton dreams she has about her handsome employer seduce her and each day when she wakes up, she finds herself more drawn to him. But love and desire aren't enough for Brandon to sire her. He must first obtain the approval of his own sire, an ancient vampire named Vasilije who has thwarted his chance for happiness before.

But if Brandon can convince him, he may finally find the love he's been without for centuries.

My Review: A short and satisfying read that’s a great start to the Sons of Navarus series; it definitely had me wanting more! I loved the vibe Vasilije (love that vamp) threw off and his lifestyle, so very carefree. A different type of romance that will haunt your dreams and a must read for any paranormal romance fan.

Brandon is a different type of vampire then we are used to. He actually comes off more human than vampire right from the start (which is not a bad thing at all), even though he has vampire powers. He’s handsome, has a huge heart and knows what he desires to have for the rest of his eternal life and refuses to stoop to the level his fellow vampire comrades do. He mostly stays to himself and is not so free giving with his body. (He’s still a total hottie and I enjoy his ways.)

Arden recently lost her father and has been homeless ever since. Running away from a male that wants to do lord knows what with her, she runs straight into an unknown place and right into the arms of Brandon. Brandon offers his help to her and gives it in a rather… creative way, then offers her a job with him as a maid. From there things change for both of them in the most delightful ways imaginable :)

This can be read and enjoyed whether you are reading it as a stand-alone, in between books or after you enjoyed the other books in the Sons of Navarus series. I CANNOT wait for more!

Goodreads Blurb: Never make a deal with a dragon.

Sandra’s sister is dying. Doctors say nothing can be done, but she refuses to give up hope. She has depleted all their resources searching for a cure, when a little bird whispers in Sandra’s ear about secret worlds, gates, and the keepers who protect them. A dragon gatekeeper, who hoards magical treasure within his volcano home in Japan, possibly owns an item capable of curing her sister.

Gates choose their keepers, and Koishi thinks his did an excellent job in picking him. Not many dare to cross, and none who try survive. However, one tiny human female with either the courage of an army or the intelligence of a gnat has arrived on the island asking for him. Curious, he waits for the locals to steer her to his human servant—actually him, in man form.

Let the games begin…

CONTENT WARNING: Goblins, mayhem, and sushi await you with hot dragon sex and Koishi’s odd sense of humor.

My Review: I LOVE DRAGONS!!!

This paranormal romance is a great read for any shifter, fantasy or fellow dragon lover out here. There’s humor (I laughed quite frequently), action, magic, adventure, romance and a hot dragon shifter all in a new world for us all to escape with and enjoy!

Sandra is beautiful, brave, strong and very desperate in the worst way to find a cure for her sister’s illness, she’s the last family she has left and will do anything to make her well again. After spending a lot of time and money, she finally finds a chance at a possible cure and travels very far to obtain it. Now that she’s there, she must try and communicate in an unfamiliar language, smile at rudeness when she really wants to frown and decide what she wants for herself in the future, for love has its hold on her heart and it’s squeezing tight.

Koishi is a loner; all of his kind is this way, especially Guardians of the gates. He only has interest in his job and his treasures. That’s until the day he meets the intriguing and beautiful American, Sandra and gets very foreign urges within and shockingly actually wishes he no longer had to answer to the call of the gate.

I love the world Annie has created for us all and hope she plans on giving us more of this duet!
