Today I have Lynn Hones here for a interview and she's going to be giving away a ebook copy of "Those Who Wait". So lets give Lynn a warm welcome to Romance Book Junkies.
I know you get asked this question over and
over but can you tell us a little about yourself? Maybe something juicy. ;)
Something juicy,
huh? Umm, let’s see. I’ve been married twenty-four-years and my husband and I
still act like we’re on our honeymoon, much to the chagrin of our teenage
daughters. We love to grab each other and start kissing in front of them simply
to gross them out. Then we’ll wink and say “Meet me upstairs in five.” They
gag. It’s so fun.
When did you first start writing? Are you a full time author or do you do it on the side?
I’m a full time wife, mother, writer,
jewelry maker, pet owner, friend, chocolate addict and (according to my kids,)
a spaz. So yeah, I guess so. I was laid off from my full-time job at a bank
about five years ago and it was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.
Do you have an author that has really inspired you?
Stephen King. His writing is beyond
absorbing.
How long does it normally take you to write
an average book or your last book?
I will work on a book for a few months, put
it down for a while and then pick it up again. So about six months or more
sounds about right.
What do you think makes a story great?
Suspense and mystery with a little romance
thrown in for good measure.
Can you describe your book "Those Who
Wait" in one sentence?
Sweet and romantic as the old 1940’s black
and white love story The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.
I see that you write both YA and Adult
romance. Do you have a preference?
I have teenagers right now, so I like to
write about that age. I actually would like to get back into the more adult
genre because teens drive me nuts. lol
Have you done lots of research for your
books or do the stories just come to you?
My stories come to me, but I do research,
too because I can’t stand when I read a book and find a historical error.
What are you currently working on?
Several projects right now. A ghost story
about haunted dolls because everyone is freaked out by dolls, right? lol. I
also live in a 150 year-old house on the lake. I’m writing about the little town
it’s in. Very interesting because it’s been compared to Calcutta
and Shanghai in
its debauchery during the 1800’s because it was a harbor port with lots of bars
and houses of ill-repute. It’s pretty tame now, but I say…Bring back the good
old days. lol
Can you tell us about some of your prior
achievements?
I’m fifty-two-years old and I’d say my biggest achievements have
been my marriage and my kids. Professionally, not much. I’m still working on
it.
Is there anything that I didn't cover that
you would like to talk about or say to your potential readers?
I love to write because I know the joy of
reading a good book. I love that I’m with a great publisher in Devine
Destinies. They really help with the editing and making sure that the book
comes out clean, well formatted and enjoyable.
What would you like to ask our readers?
What is the name of the female and male
characters that fall in love in Those Who Wait?
Just for fun:
Hardback or Paperback? Paperback.
Dog ears or Bookmarks? Ouch, I hate to admit this because I used to work in a library, but dog ears all the way. My kids used to pull my bookmarks out when they were little, so they were kinda worthless. Then they grew up and do it just for the fun of it. Little brats.
YA novels or Adult novels? Both.
Library or Bookstore? Used bookstore, but mostly Kindle now. I have to write checks to the library for my overdue books. It got expensive.
Reading glasses or No glasses? Reading glasses, if I can find them. I buy them with flowers on them and pink flamingo hoping hubby won’t wear them, but he does. He doesn’t care.
Snack while reading or No snacks? Major snacking!!!!
Beach or Mountain? Beach
Vampire or Werewolf? Werewolf
Hot or Flirty? Flirty
Movie 1st or Book 1st? Book 1st.
Contemporary or Historical? Historical
Page-Turner or Tear Jerker? Ouch…I love them both, but I guess Tear Jerker because really, there’s nothing more cleansing than a good old-fashioned cry.

Simone O’Henley, recuperating at a remote lakefront
cottage from a devastating broken heart, finds anything but rest. The noises
and moans she hears coming out of a nearby grove of trees terrify her, but are
soon tempered by the company of handsome Jackson Taylor. The locals have never
heard of him and are convinced he’s a land developer ready to snatch up their
land at the first opportunity. He convinces Simone he is a simple caretaker
looking over land for a friend, but her heart speaks the loudest. After he
disappears, she travels far and wide to find him and the truth. A truth that
turns her entire world upside down and throws everything she has ever believed
into the winds of common sense and reason.
Lynn has been kind enough to offer a give away of her ebook "Those Who Wait". All you have to do is answer Lynn's questions in the comments to enter. All other entries are extra.
