with Nevar from the Her Angel romance series by Felicity Heaton

today at Romance Book Junkies as part of my Her Wicked Angel Virtual Book Tour!
First, here’s a little about me. I’m a
paranormal romance author and I’ve been writing since 2005, and went indie in
2006. I love to write big worlds, populated by vampires, shifters, demons, fae
and angels, and I have several series. This tour is about the Her Angel series,
where passionate angels fight to protect the women they love in a deadly war
between Heaven and Hell.
Today, I’m catching up with Nevar, who made
his first appearance in Her Demonic Angel, the fifth book in the series, and
will be the hero of the seventh book.

I’ve brought Nevar
to my famous interview room. It’s rather swanky and a little bit gothic,
reflecting my personal tastes. The walls are black and the furniture beside the
large white marble fireplace are three red velvet tall backed armchairs with
gold carved wooden frames. I have two opposite me, and one is occupied today,
but Nevar isn’t my only guest.
Asmodeus stands
behind the chair Nevar occupies, his arms folded across his bare chest and his
golden eyes pinned with hawk-like focus on the back of his ward’s head. His
black hair caresses his brow, tangled and wild, and his huge obsidian wings
rest furled against his back. I’m glad for his presence as Nevar can be a
little… unruly… and dangerous, and Asmodeus is strong enough to subdue him, and
possibly save my life, if things get out of hand.
Nevar slouches
in the armchair like an insolent child, muttering things about Asmodeus beneath
his breath, some of which detail the ways in which he wants to kill him. His
fangs are out and that’s never a good sign. Neither is the darkness that crawls
over his forearms, writhing like a living thing. His tainted wings are hidden
today and he has made a vague effort to dress, if you call donning a worn
greying black t-shirt with a few holes in it and a pair of scruffy black jeans
as making an effort at all.
His feet are
bare.
He drums dark
sharp claws on the arm of the chair, scratching it from time to time, leaving
gashes in the material and watching me for a reaction. He is itching for a
fight. His chin is propped up on his other hand. His eyes are locked on me,
jade right now but sometimes dark purple rings them. When I first met him, he had
been a clean cut, handsome angel of Heaven, bent on protecting his ward, Erin,
and serving justice to those on Heaven’s naughty list. I can hardly believe the
change in him. Nevar is probably number one on that list now. His eyes are more
often purple than their true colour, and shadows can overtake him, turning his
skin black, unleashing his darker nature. His white hair is cut jaggedly, short
around the sides but longer on top, hacked away in a moment of madness no
doubt, when he couldn’t stand seeing anything of his former self.
I get the feeling
we should start the interview or I might lose my head.
FELICITY: I have Nevar
here with me today. Firstly, can you tell us a little about yourself?
NEVAR: Do I have to?
*Asmodeus cuffs him around the head* *Nevar growls*
FELICITY: Boys. Play nice.
Yes, Nevar, I need you to introduce yourself to everyone.
NEVAR: Fine. But I am
getting the feeling I am not going to enjoy this interview. I was an angel of
Heaven, a guardian, until the bastard behind me gave my natural darker
instincts a rather vicious shove by torturing and beating me until I neared
breaking. Since then, I have been sinking into darkness, and I fully intend to
take him with me.
FELICITY: Lovely. Um. I’m
not really sure what to say in response to that. Asmodeus did do something
terrible to you, but you also embraced the darkness he set free within you, did
you not?
NEVAR: *bares his fangs*
FELICITY: Asmodeus looks
ready to smack you again, so how about we try to get this onto a better, less
dangerous subject… not that I can think of one. Um. *swallows* Asmodeus did
terrible things to you, but you’ve also done evil too, and it has sort of
landed you in hot water.
NEVAR: *looks like he
won’t answer*
FELICITY: Come on. You
agreed to this interview. We just want to hear a little about you, how you’re
doing and then about your story.
NEVAR: *sighs* Very well.
I have done bad things. The bastard behind me has his faults and has wronged
me, but in turn I have my own terrible faults and have wronged him. We are no
better than each other… and some say we were made for each other. I am not
proud of the things I have done… or that I gave myself over to the darkness and
revelled in it. I should have been stronger. I should have fought harder.
FELICITY: We all have the
power of hindsight, although it’s often more a curse than a blessing. But
you’re working through things with Asmodeus now and they’re going well, right?
NEVAR: *nods* Yes. We are
attempting to settle our differences and work together. It is necessary, for
the good of this world, and also Heaven and Hell. *laughs chillingly* The fate
of the three realms appears to rest on my shoulders.
ASMODEUS: It rests upon
all our shoulders. We will share the burden with you.
NEVAR: *frowns* So you
have told me.
FELICITY: Now, now. It is
a heavy burden you bear and everyone is going to help you with it whether you
like it or not, so you should probably get used to it. Can you give readers a
little peek into your story?
NEVAR: I can describe it
in three words. Epic. Chaotic. Apocalyptic. The end of the world might come.
Heaven might fall. Hell might burn. *laughs* And I have to care… Why? *smirks*
Everyone will get what is coming to them. Blood will spill. *eyes blaze purple*
Bones will crack. I’ll drink them all… I will be the shadow of death upon the
land.
ASMODEUS: *settles his
hand on Nevar’s shoulder and squeezes hard, pressing claws into it* Nevar… I
have warned you. Deep breaths. In and out. In and out. Are you with me?
NEVAR: *breathing hard*
FELICITY: *shrinks back*
I’ll just keep my distance and keep quiet over here…
NEVAR: *eyes melt back to
frosty jade* My apologies. Sometimes it is hard to fight it. It comes on
suddenly.
ASMODEUS: Better?
NEVAR: *nods*
FELICITY: *internally to
readers* I know Nevar has a little problem. Hell, the guy has big problems.
He’s addicted to Euphoria for one. It’s a sort of demon toxin plus blood shot
that gets mortals high and should kill an angel, but Nevar has so much darkness
within him that he’s more demon than angel now. Asmodeus and Liora are trying
to help Nevar rehabilitate… and the fate of our world rests in his hands?
*swallows* I think we should all be seriously worried!
NEVAR: You are looking at
me strangely.
FELICITY: Sorry. I didn’t
mean to. I was just hoping you could hold it together long enough to save the
world… that would be very nice of you.
NEVAR: I will do my best.
I have made progress in recent weeks. My attacks are less frequent even though
I have been living in Hell. I am learning to control my darker urges, as you
just witnessed.
FELICITY: It can’t be
easy. You’ve been through a lot and now this is happening, but everyone has
faith in you and thinks you’re strong enough to handle what is coming. Besides,
you’ll have help, and not just from the gang. There’s your heroine too…
NEVAR: *sits a little
straighter but looks unsettled* What do you know of her?
FELICITY: It’s all a big
secret, but you’re going to love her. I think all of you will.
NEVAR: *eyes turn purple
again* Tell me what you know of her!
FELICITY: Down boy… you’ll
meet her soon enough. She is going to rock your world… you had better be ready
for it. She might just be your shot at salvation. *he growls and shoots to his
feet*
ASMODEUS: *clamps his hand
down on Nevar’s shoulder* I think it may be best we leave now, before he loses
his temper. *casts his free hand out and a black swirling portal appears*
NEVAR: Fine. *glares* I
will see you again soon. *steps through the portal with Asmodeus*
FELICITY: Normally people
saying that make it sound nice. See you soon! Happy and bubbly. Why do I feel I
was just threatened? Ah well. *shrugs* I have plenty of angel males to keep me

Omg now there's a Question, have I read any of Felicity's books! Well only about.. All of them I think.
The first book that I read of was the Prophecy Child Of Light Series which was my absolute Fav, then went on to other books in the Vampire Realm Series, and I so adore those too. After that the much talked about and of course read, "Her Angel Series" those Sexy Hot Angel's are to die for and not forgetting the Vampire Erotic Theatre Series, love those Dominant Vampires there so Yummy, and like I said I think I have read most if not all of Felicity's books, they are so compelling and draw you in and the new series coming out Eternal Mates, I know they are going to be Fantastic. Love all of Felicity's work.

I always love reading interviews with the characters, it gives you more information about there personalities and this definately doesn't disappoint. Neither does Felicity.
Ive read Covet & the this angel series. I love THEM !!! Cant get enough & cant wait to read book 6 :D
