Goodreads Blurb:
The bloody war between the Vampire Tribunal and the defiant scathe of Penton, Alabama, rages on, forcing its residents and their bonded humans to retreat into the underground fortress of last resort: Omega. There, Will Ludlam is charged with the care of Penton’s humans, though he longs to fight alongside his vampire brethren. He knows the risks: as the renegade son of the Tribunal’s vicious leader, Will’s capture could doom the resistance. Yet he is determined to prove his worth to his adopted scathe, to his vengeful father—and to former US Army officer Randa Thomas, his beautiful, reluctant partner. Randa has little faith that a former member of the vampire elite has what it takes to fight a war. But as their enemies descend upon Omega, Will’s polished charm—and Randa’s guarded heart—finally give way to the warrior within. Fans of Susannah Sandlin’s Penton Legacy are sure to devour this long-awaited third installment of the steamy paranormal series.

My Review:

I’ve been a very lucky reader this year and have found many original paranormal reads, Omega is definitely one of them. It’s exciting, sensual, touching, and fun all rolled into one great read any fan of the genre will enjoy.

Randa is one kick butt heroine. She’s a tough chick that has an amazing heart and outer beauty to match. She’s a fairly new vampire (5 years to be exact) and cannot bring herself to accept her new life and what it entails. She closes herself off a bit from others and her own explorations due to this fact. She figures she’ll stick to what she knows best and that’s kicking bad guy bootie!

Will is an older vampire (about 60 years in) and has grown to accept what he is. He’s extremely smart and VERY good looking. He also has a haunted past that has brought him to see himself as weak and a bit worthless. He comes off as arrogant and cold, but he’s very far from it all (love this guy!)

LOVE both Randa and Will. Two great peeps (vamps) right there and even better together. I forgot to mention earlier that I started at this point in the series, I’ve not read book 1 or 2 and found myself at perfect ease with the story, never got lost or had to stop and ask “huh”. It is very wonderfully written so it can be read as a stand-alone. I look forward to reading more from Susannah.

Thank you for this short but excellent review. it's true that omega can be read as a stand alone but i would recommend to read the series in order because all the books are goods ( they even get better and better) but it will give you a great view of Will for example because during the 3 book you really see him maturing

i recommend this series without a doubt so if you want a paranormal romance with action,; suspense and some fun Penton legacy is the right one for you

Enjoyed your review. I have read all three books in order and have enjoyed them all. Since each book focuses on a different couple they can be standalone. The flow of events thru Penton makes more sense if read in order. I also recommend this series whenever I can. Omega is book three of the trilogy, but we will have at least one more novella or book to tie up the loose ends. Think Cage's story. And a spinoff series from Omega, the first is Storm Front. A serial story starting in March.
