Goodreads Blurb:
Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.

My Review:
"The Short Life of Bree Tanner" is a story about one of the vampires made to form an army against the Cullens in book three, "Eclipse". The Twilight series is some of my favorite books so I was looking forward to reading this addition. You would need to read the series up to the third book at least before reading this book or you would have trouble following the story.

I enjoyed this book and I think that the narrator really made the story that much better. She seemed to have the perfect voice for this little girl. Bree is a newly made vampire that is forced to live with other newly made vampires that have been picked from some of the worst, most violent people in the city such as gang members so they are constantly fighting and killing each other in the house they all live together in. Bree does every thing she can to stay unnoticed by the others from fear of being hurt or killed. She makes friends with only two others in the house. Bree is smarter than most of the others and soon realizes that they are being lied to about their purpose and doesn't want to have anything to do with their plans.

This story felt to me like it could almost have been written right into the third book in the series. It gives a new perspective to the third book and shows what life was like for this army created to destroy the Cullens. Its a rather sad story. She is forced to be a vampire and part of a army she doesn't believe in and unfortunately makes the wrong decision in the end that leads to her death but at the same time she's a hero in her own right.

I would definitely recommend this book to fans of the twilight series but I still felt that it wasn't necessary to read this story so if you skip it you won't be missing much. I don't think it made the series any better or worse but it was a short entertaining addition. There was very little romance and the only warning I have is that it is a little violent.

Thanks for the review. I was wondering about this one when it came out but didn't really want to spend $15 on a side story.

@ Crystal, I definitely would not have spent $15 on this book. I would have been upset if I did because it's so short. It just doesn't seem to be worth that much.
