Goodreads Blurb:
Meriwether Storm discovered the grisly remains of her parents on their living room floor when she was only fourteen, the result of a failed daemon summoning. Meri immediately swore vengeance on the daemon who'd killed her parents, but there was only one problem--she had no idea which one had committed the atrocity.

Before their untimely deaths her parents had trained her intensively in the arts, and Meri used her skills to follow in their footsteps, ever seeking the daemon's name. Now, despite her years of searching, she's no closer to the truth and her time is running out.

A captivating daemon mysteriously offers her a dangerous job in exchange for information about her parent's murderer. Will she accept a deal from the daemon if it means finally learning the truth? Is it her instincts, her unusual attraction, or her desperation for answer, pushing her to trust the very creature she normally despises?

When retribution is the only thing that drives you, how much are you willing to sacrifice before you lose yourself to the cause?

The Liminals series is set in a future dystopian Front-Range Colorado filled with daemons, god-touched, and other not quite human creatures. Liminals stand at the crossroads and have the ability to help maintain our world and set things back to rights.

Genre: Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance, Content: Contains graphic violence and explicit sexual situations, recommended for readers 18+.

A very interesting and different read for this here book junkie! As I was reading it I was reminded of two of my favorite series of all time which are Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series and Lilith Saint Crow’s Jill Kismet series; action, excitement, adventure, paranormal elements galore and romance that all feed the imagination to bursting. It started off a touch confusing (was unsure at times of changes from past to present and visa versa), but it comes together nicely you get further in. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the cover! It’s a beauty and gives us a great picture to use in our minds as Meri’s character. Any paranormal romance reader will get many chills and thrills from reading The Daemon Whisperer.

After finding her parents dead (well what little was left of them), Meri is hell bent on revenge. She’s dead set to find out who murdered her parents and plans to murder them right back, slowly and very painfully. Many years after their deaths, Meri comes into a situation that if she agrees to certain terms, they will lead her to her parent’s murder so she can get her vengeance. But there are some things that give her pause; one of them is she trusts no daemon, the other is she’s attracted to one of them. Her entire life as she knows it changes once she even considers agreeing to the deal given to her and what an exciting and adventurous journey it is for her to get to where she needs to be and finally get the revenge she craves.

Meri learned a lot throughout her journey and grew into someone to be admired; always strong and determined, but now with more knowledge which of course leads to more power. A great start to a new series. I look forward to see where Candice will go with the next in the series :)
