Welcome to Las Vegas in the year 2020.

The cold war between mortals and vampires has ended ... the vampires won and now they control the most powerful organizations in the world which include the Global Six, the pharmaceutical industry, the gaming industry and banking.

Manon Mourey is a half-breed (too bad she doesn't know it) and one of the most powerful vamps in the world, Mikkel Damgaard, has eyes only for her. She holds the key to a dream most vampires have had since they were turned... yet her secret to changing the undead into Day Walkers could spark a war on the International Vampire Council... and soon ensnare the whole entire world.

This book is not YA friendly, contains a lot of profanity, a bit of snark, and has a few choice scenes of sex and death. It is not for the faint of heart.

Death Wish is a breath of fresh air when it comes to vampire romance novels. It was a great story with an original plot. Danielle's writing was very smooth and flowed nicely.

Manon is a women who grew up in the system after loosing her father to a vampire and her mother was turned. She has always been different and very out spoken. Until one night she meets Mikkel a very powerful vampire that claims she is the one for him and it was meant to be. He intends on making Manon his bride. It turns out that Manon is half vampire already and carries a very special gene. The story lacks some romance between Mikkel and Manon but I think that was intentional on the author's part. Manon is uncertain of her love for Mikkel and he is deeply in love with her or so he says. We don't know for sure because the book is written in first person. This book is definitely a cliff hanger with lots of unanswered questions at the end but it will have you picking up book two in this series. I would recommend this book to Paranormal Romance fans and Urban Fantasy fans. Great story and I look forward to book two!
