Book Club: Vote for September's Book

So we have officially decided through your votes that we should start a new book club. I would like to take a moment to thank Danielle @ Book Whore for giving me the beginnings of this idea that I have elaborated on.

There are no sign ups or commitments just vote for your favorite book and join in when you think you would like to read the book we're all reading. Normally you will have a month to obtain your book after the vote but this first month is going to be a little different.

*Voting for September's book starts today you will find the poll on the right hand sidebar.
*You will have 7 days to vote for your favorite book.
*Then you will have approximately 3 weeks to obtain your book.
*We will start voting on October's book on August 24th so that you have the whole month of September to obtain October's book.
*When I announce the winner of the vote for September's book I'll also give you the reading schedule for that book. Your first discussion post will be on September 8th.

* The book with the second to the most votes will automatically be added to the next set of voting.
* For now we will only be voting on first books in a series but if we all like the first book the second book will be automatically added to the next set of voting.

Now lets get to the good stuff. These are going to be your book choices for September. Read each blurb carefully then don't forget to vote on the poll in the sidebar.

Choice #1
"Devil of the Highlands" by Lynsay Sands

The "New York Times"-bestselling author of the Argeneau Vampire series delivers a sexy blend of love, laughter, and mayhem in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands.

They call him the Devil . . .

He is the most notorious laird of Scotland: fierce, cold, deadly . . . and maybe even worse. Yet Evelinde has just agreed to wed him. Anything, she thinks, is better than her cruel stepmother. Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can't help but be drawn to this warrior . . . for the Devil of the Highlands inspires a heat within her that is unlike anything she has ever known.

They may call him whatever they wish, but Cullen, Laird of Donnachaidh, cares only for the future of his clan. He must find a wife, a woman to bear him sons and heed his commands. He has no need for beauty or grace, but one taste of his lovely bride's sweet lips and the sultry feel of her skin arouse an untamed passion. Perhaps there's more to marriage than he thought . . .

Choice #2
"Seduction & Scandal" by Charlotte Featherstone

With the scandalous nature of her birth to live down, Isabella Fairmont dreams of a proper marriage, even if a passionless one. She saves her deepest desires for the novel she dares to pen, wherein a handsome lord with dark powers seduces her. But then her courtship with an appropriate suitor is threatened by the sudden attentions of the reclusive Earl of Black, whose pale blue eyes and brooding sensuality are exactly as she described in her book.
Isabella tries to resist the mysterious Earl of Black.
Yet as he pursues her, with inexplicable knowledge of her past and kisses that consume her, Isabella fears she will succumb.
If only the earl could tell Isabella the truth. With very real, and treacherous, thieves endangering her life, Black will need to protect Isabella from the very people she trusts the most.

Choice #3
"Touch of Power" by Maria V. Snyder

Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan absorbs their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Fifteen Realms, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.
Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...

Choice #4
"Once Burned" by Jeaniene Frost

She's a mortal with dark powers...

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person's darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude...until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world's most infamous vampire...

He's the Prince of Night...

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all—but whatever you do, don't call him Dracula. Vlad's ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him—a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

Hard decision but I choose #1 because I haven't read any of Jeaniene Frost's books yet.
