Blurb:
Seventeen year old Lisa Brown’s life is falling apart. First, her mother and father divorce, then their house forecloses and now, her mother has decided to commit herself to a psychiatric hospital.

If that weren’t enough, she must leave sunny south Florida to attend a boarding school full of geniuses in cold, Lynn, Massachusetts. The city where the locals chant “Lynn, Lynn, city of sin; you never come out the way you went in.”

And, they aren’t kidding. Lisa must live in a tiny shack with two strange teenagers, a dog named Pig who growls when you look at him and a cat named Rat. “Mind the cat,” everyone says. What the heck is wrong with this place?

Lisa thinks she’s landed in her own house of horrors with the anti-social Alex and his facetious sister Ally. But, the real drama begins the day she is struck by lightning…

My Review:
This book was a whirl wind of surprises throughout the whole thing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't normally read YA but this one had so much going on that I didn't notice it was a YA until there was a lack of sex. Lisa is dumped off at her aunt's house after her crazy mother forecloses on their house and admits herself into a metal rehab facility. There she meets Alex and Ally two very strange teenagers that can even be mean sometimes. I thought this story could even be a little depressing at first but as the story progresses and you start to get answers to everyone's behavior the book gets better and better. I loved all the characters and thought that this book was really enjoyable. If it had some loving in it it totally could have been a 5 hearts book. I would recommend this book to YA readers and paranormal readers in general it was a lot of fun.
